Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 April 14, 2023 Written Update: Sobha is the new captain, Hanan temporarily leaves the house

Maneesha becomes emotional when she misses her family on Vishu.

Gopika is called to narrate her life story. She starts off by telling the housemates about her family, how her alcoholic father made life difficult for her family, and how her mother left home with her, only to forgive her father. She then went on to talk about her step father, and her abusive marriage, and how she was able to escape it. The housemates applauded Gopika for sharing her brave story.

As a part of a Vishu special task, the housemates are asked to talk about the people in the house they want to see as their ‘kani’ and why. Midhun chooses Angeline, Vishnu chooses Nadira, Akhil and Shiju choose Rinosh, Maneesha chooses Sagar, Lachu chooses Rinosh, Devu chooses Lachu, Sobha chooses Nadira, Sruthi chooses Lachu, Cerena and Anjuz chooses Reneesha, Reneesha chooses Cerena, Junaiz chooses Maneesha, Gopika chooses Sagar, Angeline chooses Midhun, Sagar chooses his mother, Rinosh chooses Hanan, Nadira chooses Sobha. Maneesha gets emotional during the task, and Sagar gives her a hug after.

Sagar becomes emotional, missing his mother. In the afternoon, Angeline is rudely awoken from her slumber by the siren. Reneesha tries to get Angeline out of the bed, and the latter responds by saying that she is taking sedatives, and argues that some of the other housemates are sleeping too. Reneesha playfully places a bet saying that if the siren sounds when Angeline goes to sleep again, Reneesha will eat Angeline’s dinner.

Bigg Boss announces that Hanan, who was taken to the hospital due to her ill health in the previous episode, was advised to take rest and thus had to leave the Bigg Boss house temporarily. The housemates are asked to pack up Hanan’s things and keep them in the store room. Maneesha becomes emotional while giving Hanan a message.

Nadira and Sobha’s captaincy task begins. Nadira and Sobha are given advice by Shiju and Midhun respectively. Sobha wins the task and is declared the captain for the upcoming week.

Rinosh and Midhun discuss what kind of a captain Sobha will be.
