As per the latest reports, Varthur Santhosh will remain in custody for a period of 14 days during which the courts will decide whether he will be eligible for bail.
Things came to a rather abrupt end for Varthur Santhosh who was arrested from the Bigg Boss Kannada house on Sunday, October 22. Having entered the show as a contestant only two weeks ago, he was taken into custody by the Forest Department officials after he was caught wearing a tiger claw pendant, which turned out to be a violation of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
Now, as per the latest reports, Varthur Santhosh will remain in custody for a period of 14 days during which the courts will decide whether he will be eligible for bail. According to News18 Kannada, Santhosh's lawyer K. Nataraj has filed the petition for bail and the legal proceedings are expected to begin on Wednesday, October 25.
In the meantime, the same report adds, he has been shifted to the Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru so as to serve the said 14-day period. While Varthur Santhosh's legal team believes that the bail application would come through in his favour, more clarity regarding the case will only be achieved in the coming days.
In a strange turn of events, the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 house in Ramohalli was paid a visit by the forest department officials on Sunday afternoon after they received a complaint about his possession of the tiger claw pendant. A thorough inspection of the authenticity of the pendant was then performed and once it was proven, he was arrested the same night around 9:30 pm.
Varthur Santhosh is well-known for his work as a breeder of the Hallikar breed of cattle. As the chairman of the All India Hallikar Breed Conservation Committee, he has been a vocal advocate of animal protection, particularly cows.
