Bigg Boss Kannada 10 has been garnering great TRPs, but viewers are from happy with the tonality of the show that is toxic and brutal

Kiccha Sudeep has been the host of Bigg Boss Kannada right from its inception and his hosting skills have been one of the major highlights of the show year after year. He’s seen the show through highs and lows and a pandemic break as well, but this season, according to viewers, is different. In its 10th year, the showrunners promised a festive fervour in the house, but what has been unfolding since day 1 is anything but that. There have been war of words, borne out of personal enmities and petty differences, and physical aggression too that have resulted in injuries to the contestants. This week has been the worst of the lot, with contestants having toxic chemicals like detergent and shaving foam sprayed on them, while also being subjected to waterboarding by multiple opponents. Sangeetha Sringeri and Drone Pratap had to seek medical intervention, after the detergent went into their eyes, leaving them with corneal ulcers.

Earlier, several viewers had highlighted how Bigg Boss Kannada had ceased to be a family show, what with a lot of aggression on display and use of rude and foul language. This, incidentally, is the first season that is not handled by Parameshwar Gundkal, who’d been at the helm of affairs all this while. He had left to focus on filmmaking. Parameshwar has directed a film called Koti with Daali Dhananjaya. Prashant Naik is running the show and netizens are far from happy with how he has been handling it.

Amid all this came rumours that it’s not just the viewing audience, but host Kiccha Sudeep as well who is not very happy at the moment. Week on week, in his Saturday panchayat, Sudeep has had to take some contestants to task for their unacceptable behaviour on the show. Yet, the same toxic tone has continued to be the main theme of the Bigg Boss Kannada house. According to the buzz on social media, Sudeep has had a word with the creative team of Bigg Boss Kannada and while he may not leave it mid-season and will look at seeing it through to the end, he may not stay unless there is a change in the creative team.
