Ahead of the premiere of the OTT edition of Bigg Boss Kannada, Sudeep and the showrunners caught up with the media to speak about what’s in store.
Kiccha Sudeep is a bona fide ‘pan-India’ star as of today but the actor puts his versatility on display every year as the charming host of Bigg Boss Kannada. The Vikrant Rona actor began his tryst with the super popular reality show in 2013 and hasn’t stopped ever since, now all set to reprise his role for the 9th straight time.
Ahead of the premiere of the OTT edition of Bigg Boss Kannada, Sudeep and the showrunners caught up with the media to speak about what’s in store. When a journalist asked the actor if he gave special attention to his snazzy costumes and the overall look, the actor responded by saying that, indeed, he looks forward to working on his style department. The same journo would highlight that Sudeep almost never repeats any of his costumes, drawing an endearing smile from him, and go on to ask whether the showrunners demanded him to be on top of the style game.
“It’s more of an individual effort, Colors (Kannada) has never put forth such demands. Also, the whole thing is quite simple: I could get six different suits made and switch the combinations to make it look interesting throughout. This is probably the only time (while hosting the show) that I dress up for myself because everywhere else, I wear whatever I am comfortable with. After the first couple of seasons, I realized that people actually take notice of what I wear, there would be tweets inquiring about what I would wear the coming week, and I began to enjoy that.
Since people were so keen on the style and look part of my job, I took it quite seriously. And to make things better, many talented designers get to be on the job throughout the year and show their skills. We have tried something new for the upcoming season and my designers give me a lot of inputs to make me look the best on screen. They are the ones putting in all the efforts,” said Sudeep at the press meet.
The upcoming season of Bigg Boss Kannada has an exciting twist for all the ardent patrons as the show comes in two different formats this time around. While the traditional TV format is slated to premiere later this year, fans will be treated to the Bigg Boss Kannada OTT or digital version first which is all set to stream online from August 6. The winner of the OTT edition will receive an Rs. 25 Lakh cash prize and the “OTT edition” trophy with the show premiering for an hour every day on Voot.
Kiccha Sudeep will be hosting both the TV version and the OTT spin-off, much to everyone’s delight!
