Bigg Boss winner and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was detained on Tuesday night in Mumbai after a raid on a hookah parlor. With him, 13 others were detained, following the raid. As it was a bailable offense, police gave him a notice and let him go. A case has been registered at MRA Marg Police Station and the investigation is in progress.
The raid took place late at night at a hookah parlor in the Fort area of South Mumbai.
Prompted by a tip-off received by the SS branch, the raid targeted the hookah bar, where officials suspected the patrons of indulging in tobacco-based hookah under the guise of herbal. Including Faruqui, there were 13 more people who were detained.

Police recovered tobacco gutka and hookah-related products during the raid. They seized a total of Rs 4,400 and nine hookah pots, worth Rs 13,500 in the raid according to India TV.
An officer stated, "Our team raided the hookah bar based on information suggesting tobacco use disguised as herbal. We have called in experts to determine the nature of the substances used. Faruqui is among those detained."
For the uninitiated, this is not the first time where Munawar has gone to jail. In 2021, he was arrested on charges of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus after he made a joke at a stand-up comedy performance. He was arrested with four others after the complaint was filed by the song of BJP MP, Eklavya Singh Gaud. Munawar was granted bail after he spent 37 days in jail.
The 32 year old comedian, Munawar took home the winner's trophy after he won the 17th season of the Salman Khan hosted controversial show. He pit against Abhishek Kumar and Mannara Chopra who finished in the second and third position respectively. Munawar won Rs 50 lakh and a brand new car.
