Bigg Boss 16 promo: Abdu’s captaincy hangs in the balance with a quirky mining task

Abdu had been selected as the house’s captain last week.

It was hard to find a single displeased face in the Bigg Boss 16 house when Abdu Rozik was selected as the house’s new captain. The Tajikistani singer is by far one of the most loved contestants in the series, both among the housemates as well as among the show’s viewers. But it seems that Abdu’s reign as captain has come under threat, when Bigg Boss announced a new task to determine whether Abdu will continue as captain in the house or not.

In a new promo for the upcoming episode, Bigg Boss gives the housemates an interesting task- one that involves them ‘mining’ coal. After the mining, they were required to deposit their collections in two godowns, one marked ‘For Abdu’ and the other marked ‘Change Abdu’. If the number of coals in the first godown were more, Abdu’s captaincy would continue, if not, it would be revoked.

The task seemed to have led to quite a few arguments between the housemates as well. While Shiv Thakare and Soundarya Sharma were seen arguing over the way the latter did the task, Tina Datta and Archana Gautam fought over Abdu’s captaincy as well.

The promo,shared on Colors TV’s Instagram, was captioned “Abdu ki captaincy continue karne ke liye, Bigg Boss ne diya naya task. Kya unka raaj reh paayega barkarar?”.

Tuesday’s episode of Bigg Boss saw the Supreme praise Abdu, saying that almost everyone in the house seemed happy when he was nominated. The supreme also gave Abdu a special power to save four of his favourite contestants from eviction. Abdu chose Shiv, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Sajid Khan and MC Stan for saving.
