Bigg Boss 16 December 19, 2022 LIVE Highlights: Sreejita and Stan join Soundarya as the new captains

Sumbul and Tina have yet another heated argument.

Day 79 of the Bigg Boss house saw yet another shake up when it came to captains. The supreme had a quirky office themed task in store for the housemates, and as always, it led to chaos. The house also witnessed its fair share of arguments as well.

Here’s all that happened:

Day 79, 8:45 AM IST

Shalin jokingly praises Sreejita for bringing him tea. Tina mocks him, and talks about how Shalin did not appreciate it when she did it for him.

Shiv says that it would be fun if Stan became captain once. Stan jokes around on hearing this.

Day 79, 10:15 AM IST

As everyone is napping, the sound of a rooster’s crow comes up. Soundarya wakes Archana up. Sumbul starts banging around a plate and wakes Ankit and Vikkas. Tina asks the latter two to get up, so that Sumbul stops. Shalin calls Sumbul’s antics nonsense.

Day 79, 1:00 PM IST

Bigg Boss says that Ankit is taking advantage of the fact that some of the housemates are sick and need to rest. The supreme tells the captains to take care of it. Archana sobs and becomes emotional, saying that Priyanka finds a shoulder to cry on in the form of Ankit, while she has no one.

Day 79, 1:30 PM IST

Shiv tries to comfort a crying Archana, saying that she is not alone. Ankit jokes around with Priyanka, who is lying in bed.

Soundarya, Nimrit, Sajid, Sreejita put up their hands when Bigg Boss asks who are sick. The supreme says that it feels like the energy in the house is very low. As Abdu is not there, Bigg Boss gives the housemates a office themed task. There are cubicles and bosses. Soundarya and Vikkas, the reigning captains, are chosen as bosses, who are given the freedom to throw people out of the captaincy race. The people in the cubicles are asked to phone the bosses and give reasons as to not pick their fellow housemates for captains.

Day 79, 3:15 PM IST

After the round, Vikkas and Soundarya decide who to throw out of the captaincy race. The two have a hard time agreeing with each other on who to pick. They fire Sumbul from the first captaincy round. Ankit and Vikkas have fun on the phone and banter with each other. Ankit is also fired.

Day 79, 3:30 PM IST

As Vikkas and Soundarya discuss, Bigg Boss advises them that they can make use of their own judgement, rather than go by only the phone calls. Bigg Boss sternly advises them yet again. The two argue over who to kick out, especially Archana and Stan. Tina jokes around with Ankit, while Shalin sits nearby.

Bigg Boss says that Soudarya and Vikkas do not seem to be fit to be captains, especially after the task. The rest of the housemates are given the chance to kick one of them out from the captaincy position. Tina declares that Nimrit was given the captaincy on a platter, leading to chaos. It soon turns into an argument, and Sajid walks out in frustration, before coming back. Vikkas is soon fired.

The sole boss, Soundarya then fires Priyanka and Tina.

Day 79, 4:00 PM IST

Shalin starts to flirt with Soundarya, while the latter questions why he called her a sadist then. Shiv also follows a similar route. Tina says that Sumbul’s reactions are really bad these days, always mocking and being sarcastic. Soundarya fires Shalin and Archana.

Day 79, 4:15 PM IST

Soundarya then goes on to fire Nimrit and Shiv. Archana gets into an argument with Tina. Soundarya is told by Bigg Boss that only one person can be fired in this round, and she chooses Sajid. Stan and Sreejita are declared the new captains. Shiv celebrates Stan’s win.

Tina and Archana’s argument continues in the kitchen, especially over chicken.

Day 79, 4:45 PM IST

Sajid celebrates the fact that Sreejita will not be in the kitchen this week, as she is captain. Soundarya says that she was appalled that Priyanka chose Vikkas as captain.

Day 79, 5:00 PM IST

Sajid and Soundarya talk about how she did not choose Sajid as a captain. Sajid reminds Soundarya that he had chosen Soundarya as captain.

Day 79, 5:15 PM IST

Nimrit also justifies why she chose to name Stan to kick out of the captaincy race. Archana gets into a disagreement with Priyanka.

Day 79, 5:30 PM IST

Sajid, Shiv and Stan also discuss what Nimrit said about Stan.

Day 79, 7:00 PM IST

The captains start to divide the chores among the housemates. Priyanka refuses to take any cooking duty except for dinner duty.

Day 79, 8:45 PM IST

Archana declares that she will be happy when Ankit leaves the house, and Priyanka becomes alone without her ‘dulha’.

Day 79, 10:30 PM IST

Archana questions why Soundarya did not pick the former for captain. Vikkas asks Soundarya for something, and she declares that she is having an important conversation. The two hug it out, and the duo sob and make up. Priyanka starts an argument with Nimrit and Sreejita.

Day 79, 11: 00 PM IST

Stan says that Tina seemed to have stolen something. The former says that he was kidding, while Tina yells, having taken offence at it. Tina then unloads on Sumbul as well, and drags the latter’s father into the conversation as well. The two mock and yell at each other.

Day 79, 12:30 PM IST

Archana says Sajid should not support Ankit, saying that the latter should be evicted. Shiv jokes around. Soundarya says that Priyanka used them, and Archana agrees.

Day 79, 1:00 AM IST

Sreejita says that he considers Shiv a good friend, and promise to be honest with each other.
