Bhuvan was told that only Kamal Haasan could pull off 10 characters, that too because he had a different team backing him.
Bhuvan Bam introduced his web series titled Dhindora in 2021 and it instantly became one of the most loved shows of the year. However, things weren’t easy for Dhindora. On The Gentleman Show, Bhuvan revealed that people refused to invest in Dhindora because it had 10 characters.
The conversation about Dhindora began from Bhuvan, also a singer, being rejected from a singing reality show which he prefers to keep unnamed. However, the content creator said that there was a moment when he realized that reality shows aren’t everything – it was a moment when he sang for 15 people in shikara on Dal Lake in Kashmir.
Further, Bhuvan revealed, “Every second project is a rejection. I have been blatantly refused.” He was referring to his last release Dhindora which has now become huge and will even get renewed for newer seasons.
Bhuvan said that he pitched the show to many people but they refused to hear him out by stating that no one has performed 10 characters except Kamal Haasan and he had a different team behind him.
“I was told that I can’t play 10 characters so I started questioning why did we make the show in the first place? I don’t want to do caricature,” Bhuvan shared.
He spoke about BB Ki Vines being a universe that Bhuvan has created. Elaborating on the point, the comedian said that people should definitely continue with their original characters and even take copyright for that but they should always expand into bringing more characters and fun to the show.
“I was very happy with the three characters I had in the beginning but wanted to invent more. After brainstorming, now I have 19 characters and want to add one more for the round figure of 20,” BB said.
Bhuvan is actually very sure that there will be a 20th character which will be introduced in Dhindora season 2. He revealed that he is still brainstorming on the character but it will definitely be introduced to the viewers when it is ready.
