Bhumi Pednekar is certainly keeping busy these days. The star, who is still riding the wave of appreciation, her remarkable performance in Badhaai Do has garnered, refuses to be tied down it seems. She is currently awaiting the release of a string of projects. The star has recently wrapped up filming for her upcoming movie, Bhakshak, celebrating the occasion with a photograph from the sets.

The actress took to her official social media handles to make the announcement and her post included a photograph, featuring her with the film’s crew. In the caption of her post, Pednekar called the shoot, which took 39 days, an ‘emotional roller coaster’ and said that the film was one, which will always be close to her heart. She revealed that the upcoming film focussed on the story of a group of women who come together to ‘fight for justice’, and the narrative gave her ‘goosebumps’. The actress also added that she felt honoured to be a part of a project such as that.

Pednekar will essay the role of a journalist in the film, and the film’s story will revolve around her efforts to expose a scam that takes place in Bihar. The premise is reportedly based on the 2018 Muzaffarpur shelter case, wherein a number of women were abused in a shelter home.

The upcoming film is written and directed by Pulkit, popular for directing Rajkummar Rao’s 2017 limited series, Bose: Dead/Alive. The upcoming film is produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Pednekar’s upcoming releases include Bheed, Raksha Bandhan and Govinda Naam Mera, in which she will be seen sharing the screen with Rao, Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal respectively.
