From a romantic comedy in Netflix's The Royals to a complex psychological thriller in Prime Video's Daldal Bhumi Pednekar is exploring diverse roles in her upcoming dual projects.
Bhumi Pednekar co-hosted the opening ceremony of this year's International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The actor recently announced her forthcoming projects, which include the Netflix series The Royals and the Prime Video psychological thriller Daldal.
Pednekar released a teaser for The Royals earlier, stating that it's her first long format. She is excited that Netflix will work with them and produce a generous result. Pednekar revealed that the series combines comedy and romance, describing the genre as simply fantastic. Even though it's a romantic comedy, the actor went on to say that the cast, which includes Zeenat Aman and Ishaan Khatter, offers "layered" and "nuanced" performances.
The ensemble of Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana's new romantic comedy series includes Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, Luke Kenny, Vihaan Samat, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, and Sakshi Tanwar.
Pritish Nandy produced it, while Rangita and Ishita are the creators of the show. As Sr. Nandy puts it, The Royals had to be just the right blend of coming-of-age India, Gen Z storytelling, and feisty fun! They are well-known for their modern pop culture and energetic storytelling. The undeniable allure of bygone kings and queens, royalty without crowns, and the tremendous tenacity of modern entrepreneurial fighters, for whom crowns are completely unimportant, are two sides of the same coin. It has been a blast for us to design and develop the battle of these two realms, where insults and sparks fly! Netflix's dedication to promoting groundbreaking and outstanding content has always moved them. They are ecstatic to join the Netflix family and work with them to bring our girl-meets-boy story—a modern spin on the age-old tale of a maharaja and an aamkumari—to viewers all over the world.
As it develops, this series promises to be the ideal binge-watch, combining romance, ambition, desire, and the charm of royalty. In The Royals coming soon to Netflix, fans will be whisked away on an emotional roller coaster via love, humour, and regal reparties in a world where crowns are worn and earned.
In addition, Pednekar spoke about her part in the Prime Video series Daldal which she said was completely different from her role in The Royals. The actor described the psychological thriller's character as "incredibly complex."
