The actor plays war hero Vijay Karnik, who served as Indian Air Force (IAF) squadron leader during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. A teaser of a song featuring Sanjay Dutt was released, captioned, “Get ready to move your feet on some desi beats”.

Sanjay Dutt will play another main character named Ranchordas Pogi. Ranchordas Pogi was a nomad in Gujarat who was employed as an Indian Army Scout during the war of 1971. Pogi was credited for the army's territorial advancement, often finding the enemy just with his knowledge of the terrain. A motion poster was released earlier revealing various characters in the movie.
As far as legends go, Bhuj Attack by Pakistan, known as Operation Chegiz Khan, is known as the ‘Pearl Harbour of India’. Bhuj airstrip was bombed 35 times in 14 days. At that time, Vijay Karnik, with the help of 300 local women rebuilt the airstrip from scratch in three days.
Apart from Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Norah Fatehi essay significant roles, Pranitha Subhash plays the wife of Vijay Karnik. A song, Zaalima Coca Cola, featuring Norah Fatehi was released earlier today.
Bhushan Kumar, producer of Bhuj: The Pride of India, had earlier said in a statement, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier. He was heroic enough to involve civilians in a war.”
