Bhuban Badhyokar alleged that Gopal Ghosh of Godhuli Bela Music duped him to sign a paper and took away his rights from his music
Peanut seller Bhuban Badhyokar rose to fame when his song Kacha Badam became an anthem for the Instagram Reel makers. From Madhuri Dixit to PV Sindhu – celebrities and influencers across the globe danced the hook step with the song. Bhuban Badhyokar – a vendor from rural Bengal – became an overnight star. After one year, the singer complained that he cannot sing his own song since he is duped.
Talking to OTTplay, Bhuban Badyokar said that a music label wonder, made him sign the wrong documents. “Gopal Ghosh of Godhuli Bela Music told me that he will register my song Kacha Badam to IPRS or Indian Performing Right Society Limited so that I get the royalty for the use of the song. He made me sign papers and gave me Rs 3 lakh. Then I realised he duped me. Now if I make a YouTube video with Kacha Badam, it gets barred. I was supposed to get money for using my music and instead, I am being barred from singing my own song. Gopal Ghosh is not taking my call,” said the singer.
Meanwhile, Bhuban Badyokar has left his house in Kuralguri and started living in a rented house in Dubrajpur. He has also asked his associate to go. His ex-manager Dilfaraj Kaji and others left their job with Bhuban Badyokar. According to village sources, the number of shows of Bhuban Badyokar has plummeted.
