The horror-comedy, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Javed Jaffrey, premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on September 10.
The makers of Bhoot Police are back to get you to roll on the floor laughing again. Producer Ramesh Taurani has revealed that a sequel to the Disney+ Hotstar horror-comedy is in the plans. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Javed Jaffrey, the film premiered on the streaming giant’s platform on September 10.
According to Pinkvilla, Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor would reprise their roles for the sequel. It was also reported that the team had plans to build a franchise around the film. The franchise would reportedly revolve around the desi ghost hunters facing ghostly adventures across different terrains in the country. With aspects like supernatural forces and exorcisms, the film definitely has the material for a series of works.
Ramesh Taurani had expressed his enthusiasm for helming a sequel, given how the first had entertained audiences as much as it did. Directed by Pavan Kirpalani, Bhoot Police chronicled the adventures of two brothers, portrayed by Khan and Kapoor, who con people as fake ghostbusters. However, their skills and talents are tested when they encounter a real ghost in a remote village.
