Recently, Vidya visited Kolkata during her promotional activities. Kartik Aaryan accompanied her. The actress, while answering a question, reacted to the RG Kar incident that took place in Kolkata in August. Vidya said that she was heartbroken when she heard such a heinous crime took place in a city like Kolkata. “Main hil geyi thi (I was shaken to the core). Kolkata is one place where respect for women is not just a saying. People really do respect women here. So, when I heard the news I was heartbroken exactly like the people here. I was in disbelief. Eta to Maa er shohor (this is the city of Maa). How can something as gruesome as this happen here?”
