It seems to be double trouble for Kartik Aaryan in the Anees Bazmee-directed third instalment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.
Kartik Aaryan dropped a confirmation on Monday that Vidya Balan is indeed a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The actors shared the news on his Instagram page as a collaborative post, which led to excitement for the third instalment to the next level. According to the latest reports, Vidya will not only be returning as Manjulika, but Madhuri Dixit-Nene has also been roped in to play a pivotal role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Mid Day reported last month that Vidya would be returning but kept the details of her role in the third chapter of the franchise under wraps. Furthermore, filmmaker Anees Bazmee has cast Madhuri in his upcoming horror comedy, according to emerging reports. Rumour has it that Rooh Baba, played by Kartik will be facing off against not one but two spectres this time around, thanks to his purported ability to speak with the afterlife.
The makers thought including a different ghost would enrich the story. The two spectres, Madhuri and Vidya, will face off against Rooh Baba. A source indicates that the producers have played a trump card by pairing the two leading ladies on screen for the first time. Next month, production will begin on the film.

The tabloid also reported earlier that, curiously, Vidya's character will still be able to speak Bengali fluently in the third installment of the horror comedy, just like in the original. Also, the makers are intentionally building suspense around whether she plays Manjulika or not. Rooh Baba also spoke Bengali in the final scene of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Even though the actor will be back in the role, he'll be wearing a different disguise this time.
Set in West Bengal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will have a totally Bengali plot. In preparation for the first Mumbai schedule, the crew will construct a set that represents a Kolkata home's interior. In the first leg, the director will film the comedic moments, but in the second stint, the team will travel to a small town in West Bengal to film some serious action scenes. In anticipation of its Diwali premiere, Anees plans to film it in a straightforward fashion.
Kiara Advani played the role of Aaryan's romantic interest in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022). Speculation abounds around the makers' desire to pair him with Sara Ali Khan in their most recent production. The source also added that the discussions are at a nascent stage. Currently, there is no confirmation.
