The trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, with Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, and Rajpal Yadav in supporting roles, was dropped a few hours ago. The glimpses of the film, which is a sequel to Priyadarshan's 2007 epic horror-comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, have been winning the hearts of the audience and also the actors of the first instalment of the film franchise.

The makers of the film presented us to a new Manjulika. Kiara Adavni, who plays Kartik Aaryan's love interest, in possessed state, says in the trailer that she is Manjulika. Thus, began the comparisons to the original Manjulika, which was played by Vidya Balan.

Vidya Balan brilliantly portrayed the character with dual personalities in the classic 2007 movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Her performance of Manjulika, Avni's alter ego, received great acclaim. Her performance in the film was so iconic that her name has become synonymous with the character Manjulika. Thinking about Balan’s character still sends shivers down one’s spine.

But Vidya Balan praised the trailer for the film. She shared a photo on Instagram with the caption: ‘Bhushan Kumar and his team deserve kudos for this spooky humour’. The trailer appears to be familiar but distinct! She can't wait to go on another roller-coaster ride, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Watch the family film, which will be released in theatres on May 20, 2022.
