Directed by Anees Bazmee and also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav, the movie will stream on Netflix.
Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was one of the most-anticipated Bollywood movies of the year. Having received favourable reviews following its release, the movie has also had a strong grip over the box office. The horror comedy has now become the second highest grossing Hindi movie of the year.
According to trade analyst Taran Adrash, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has done well even on the weekdays and has crossed the lifetime business of Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubhai Kathiawadi (Rs 129.10 crore), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He confirms that with a total collection of Rs. 133.09 crore so far at the domestic box office, the movie has become the second highest grossing Hindi film of the year, behind Vivek Agnihotri’s controversial The Kashmir Files.
The box office success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is refreshing for Bollywood, considering that the year has been a tough one for the industry. While Hindi movies have failed to make a mark on the box office, dubbed versions such as Pushpa: The Rise, RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 have done well at the Hindi speaking belts.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, the movie is the sequel to the 2007 cult classic, Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. The sequel also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in other important roles.
“Anees Bazmee brings back his comedy element, and it's worth the wait! Along with that, it's Tabu and Kartik Aaryan who take the film up a notch and will leave you impressed throughout. I can't forget about the music and background score, which have me hooked!” reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.
The horror comedy, which has clearly struck a chord with the family audience, is now available in theatres near you. The movie’s streaming rights has been bagged by Netflix, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
