Bholaa Shankar OTT release date: When & where to watch Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah's film on OTT

Megastar Chiranjeevi kicked off 2023 with an impressive run at the box office with Waltair Veerayya. The K.S. Ravindra/Bobby directorial saw the actor return to his vintage '90s glory in a film that brimmed with 'mass' elements, humour, action and whatnot. Of course, the presence of Ravi Teja in the mix came as a bonus feature and the film emerged as a commercial success allowing Chiranjeevi to breathe a sigh of relief following the underwhelming results of his previous two outings.

So, in this vein, one also expected his follow-up film Bholaa Shankar to fare as well, considering that this film too boasted the classic commercial elements of the past. With Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah Bhatia, too, part of the cast and Chiranjeevi seemingly in good form, the Meher Ramesh directorial did carry a lot of promise when it arrived in theatres on August 11, 2023. However, Bholaa Shankar would ultimately fail to live up to the hype and barring a few specific portions of the film, the audiences did not respond to it the way intended.

When and Where to watch Bholaa Shankar on OTT

Regardless, a Megastar film always warrants the attention of his fans and the news of Bholaa Shankar debuting on OTT has evoked curiosity among them. It was confirmed not very long ago that Netflix will host his most recent release and we now hear that the film will premiere on Friday, September 15 on the same platform.

This would be Chiranjeevi's third title on the trot to drop on Netflix, with both Waltair Veerayya and Godfather already part of the streamer's repertoire.

Can Bholaa Shankar on OTT find a new legion of fans?

There's no denying that the subpar quality of Bholaa Shankar did leave a lot of Chiranjeevi's fans irked and upset. On the one hand, not many were pleased to see the veteran actor in another run-of-the-mill remake of a previous hit and nor were they too keen on how Meher Ramesh clumsily handled things. That said, it would be interesting to see if Bholaa Shankar's OTT debut revives a bit of the 'lost pride', so to speak, for the same fans and whether it could manage to attract better reviews this time around.
