A remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, the upcoming movie also features Nitya Menen, Samuthirakani and Samyuktha Menon
Fans anxiously awaiting the arrival of Bheemla Nayak were able to breathe a sigh of release after the makers finally locked in on a release date for the film. The film, along with many other highly anticipated releases of the year including SS Rajamouli’s RRR, was forced to postpone its initial January release due to concerns regarding the intensifying COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. Now after zeroing on its release date, it seems that the makers are looking to also finalise the OTT platform where the film can be released after its theatrical run.
It is being speculated that the streaming rights to the film have been bagged by Disney+Hotstar, although these speculations are yet to be confirmed by an official source. The streaming giant has already nabbed some recent popular Telugu titles, such as Akhanda and Hero.
The upcoming film is led by Tollywood heavyweights Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati, and features Nithya Menen, Samyuktha Menon, Brahmanandam and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. Kalyan essays the role of the titular character. The film is a remake of the popular 2020 Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum directed by Sachy, which starred Prithviraj and Biju Menon. It tells the tale of an intense rivalry between an influential ex-military officer and a police officer.
Bheemla Nayak has Saagar K Chandra as its director and Trivikram Srinivas as its screenwriter. S Thaman has composed the soundtrack of the film. The film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, under the banner of Sithara Entertainments.
Bheemla Nayak is slated to release in theatres on February 25, 2022.
