‘Bhediya’ Varun Dhawan shoots for Stree 2, details inside

It was in 2018 that India got its first horror-comedy in the longest time through Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree. That led to more movies in the universe produced by Dinesh Vijan, with Janhvi Kapoor’s Roohi and Varun Dhawan joining in as Bhediya. The next film from the universe, Stree 2, is already on floors and now we hear that Varun has already shot for his part in the movie. The news comes days after Varun announced his next film, VD 18 aka Baby John, presented by Atlee.
What we know
It appears that Varun has already shot for Stree 2. The actor, who plays Bhediya in the franchise, will have a cameo appearance in the film, much like Shraddha, Rajkummar and Aparshakti Khurana had a cameo in Bhediya. According to Bollywood Hungama, Varun allotted two days to the shoot and has completed the same. They describe it as a ‘hilarious yet impactful cameo’ and claim that Varun had a blast shooting for the movie with director Amar Kaushik. The two also discussed about Bhediya 2.
More on the cameo
Back in Bhediya, Shraddha had a cameo appearance through the song Thumkeshwari. Meanwhile, Rajkummar and Aparshakti were seen in a scene with one of the leading actors Abhishek Banerjee (who was already a part of Stree as Jana). Thus, Varun might be seen in something similar. However, one cannot be sure how will Kriti be associated with the film, if at all she is.
On Bhediya 2
Bhediya 2 will go on floors next year. The movie will take off where Stree 2 ends. Currently, the Shraddha-Rajkummar starring film is scheduled for August 2024 release.
What about Roohi 2?
Rajkummar had confirmed that Stree 2 is definitely being worked upon and of course, that was true. However, he also had no update on Roohi 2 and thus, if the film is made, it is likely to be after Bhediya 2.
