The makers of Pratik Gandhi's upcoming film have issued a statement clearing that the title of the film's promos and trailer are now changed to Bhavai to avoid hurting the sentiments of the people. The makers had changed the title of the film after netizens said that it hurts their religious sentiments and demanded a ban on the film.

Stating that they have the highest regard for Hindu culture and Ramayana, the makers wrote, "Our film Bhavai is a fictional love story of two individuals Raja Ram Joshi (Pratik Gandhi) and Rani (Aindrita Ray) working in a drama company and how their life changes off stage." The makers also cleared that the film doesn't hurt any religious sentiments.

As an additional step, the makers have changed the trailer name from 'Raavan Leela trailer' to 'Bhavai trailer'. They have also edited the controversial scene (where Raavan questions Ram about injustice).

Bhavai has received the Universal (U) certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The makers then added, "We trust that this clarifies and sets at rest all apprehensions, misrepresentations, doubts and misgivings regarding our film Bhavai."

Bhavai, produced by Pen Studios, sees Raja Ram Joshi play the role of Raavan on stage, while Rani plays Sita. The story revolves around Raja Ram Joshi, who is Raavan on stage.

Presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, Bhavai is produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada, Parth Gajjar and Hardik Gajjar films in association with Backbencher Pictures. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film is set to release in cinemas on October 1, 2021. However, there is still no update on the movie's OTT release.
