The film is bankrolled by Rajani Korrapati under Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, the makers of Eega and Oohalu Gusagusalade
Sree Vishnu, known for his distinct script choices, surprised one and all in an out-and-out mass avatar in his latest theatrical release, Bhala Thandanana. Catherine Tresa was cast as the female lead in the action thriller written by Srikanth Vissa and directed by Chaitanya Dantuluri. Reputed production house, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram (by Rajani Korrapati) bankrolled the film presented by Sai Korrapati. The film that hit theatres on May 6 is now gearing up for its OTT premiere.
Disney+ Hotstar will stream the actioner on May 20, barely two weeks away from its theatrical release. Confirming the news, the OTT platform wrote, 'Bhala re Bhala! Mee screen ki vachestundi #BhalaThandanaOnHotstar @DisneyPlusHSTel 🔥.' Bhala Thandanana was a washout in theatres with no real buzz going for it and it seems like a practical decision by the makers to go ahead for an early OTT premiere. Interestingly, the makers of Sree Vishnu's Gaali Sampath in 2021 too opted for a digital premiere just a week after its release in theatres. The actor's other releases in the last year include Raja Raja Chora (streaming on ZEE5) and Arjuna Phalguna (on aha).
The film's story takes off with a son of a big-time gangster being kidnapped in Hyderabad where the latter is asked to pay a sum of Rs 10 crore if he seeks his son's return. Meanwhile, an investigative journalist Shashirekha comes across Chandu, an accountant working at an orphanage. The two meet in connection with an alleged raid at the orphanage and soon, sparks fly and they hit it off as a couple. However, Chandu knows some dark secrets behind a series of chilling murders in the city and strangely, he's kidnapped later. Is there more to Chandu than what we know of? What connects Chandu, Shashirekha to the dreaded don Anand Bali?
Bhala Thandanana also stars Garuda Raam a.k.a Ramachandra Raju, Srinivas Reddy, Satya and Posani Krishna Murali in key roles. Suresh Ragutu has cranked the camera for the film while Marthand K Venkatesh is the editor. Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director with Peter Hein choreographing the action sequences. Mani Sharma, who had also worked with Chaitanya Dantuluri's other films Baanam and Basanthi previously, has composed the songs for the film.
