Earlier today, the official social media handle of Geetha Pictures unveiled the title design of Bhairathi Ranagal in multiple languages
Fans of Shiva Rajkumar were elated to find out that the actor's much-loved character from Mufti was getting its own film. In the 2017 film, Shivanna played the role of Bhairathi Ranagal, a crime lord who had an entire village and its surroundings under his watch and the crux of the film was about how an undercover cop, played by Sriimurali, strived to apprehend him.
Narthan made his directorial debut with Mufti and is now directing Bhairathi Ranagal, which will be produced by Geetha Shiva Rajkumar under the Geetha Pictures banner.
The poster of Bhairathi Ranagal was unveiled on February 18th and piqued the interest of the fans. Shiva Rajkumar, in shadows, is shown seated on a chair to replicate the iconic image from Mufti with the tagline 'The Era, Where it All Began!' suggesting that Bhairathi Ranagal, the film, will be a prequel to the 2017 film. Other reports have informed that the upcoming spin-off film will not only explore the making of Bhairathi Ranagal but also take the plot forward from where it signed off in Mufti.
Should speculations be believed, Shiva Rajkumar's role in the Tamil film Jailer could have a Bhairathi Ranagal link, considering that his character is finally arrested and sent off to prison.
Earlier today, the official social media handle of Geetha Pictures unveiled the title design of Bhairathi Ranagal in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Although the team is yet to share a formal word on this, one could expect the film to be a pan-Indian release.
In other developments, latest reports that have emerged on social media reveal that Shiva Rajkumar has been approached for a cameo appearance in the mega Shah Rukh Khan project, Jawan. Though speculative in nature, these reports claim that Atlee & Co. is planning on using the Hattrick Hero's stardom to expand the reach of their film. More updates to follow.
