Akshay Kumar and Govinda's film Bhagam Bhag has finally got a sequel after 18 years. Bhagam Bhag 2 will be produced by Roaring River Productions and Shemaroo Entertainment.
Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal's film Bhagam Bhag worked well at the box office upon its theatrical release in 2006. Directed by filmmaker Priyadarshan, the movie was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 32 crore. It minted Rs 67.34 crore at the ticket window. 18 years later, the comic caper has finally got a sequel. Bhagam Bhag 2's producers have confirmed this development. It is being backed by Roaring River Productions and Shemaroo Entertainment.
The rights for Bhagam Bhag's sequel were recently acquired by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions from Shemaroo Entertainment. She will co-produce the film along with the production house. "Because a special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge," said Sarita.

On the other hand, Shemaroo Entertainment's CEO Hiren Gada also confirmed this development. "We are excited to partner with an incredible team to create a film that will continue the legacy of its predecessor by bringing more laughter, fun, and entertainment," he added. The film will go on floors by mid-2025.
The makers have promised that Bhagam Bhag 2 will be 'madder, crazier and funnier'. Other details about the sequel will be officially announced soon. Talking about the 2006 film, Bhagam Bhag also starred Arbaaz Khan, Jackie Shroff, Lara Dutta, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, and more. The film was released in theatres on December 21, 2006. It was backed by Sunil Shetty and Dhilin Mehta.
