Everest is a survival adventure film, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, with an ensemble cast, including Jason Clarke and Jake Gyllenhaal. The 2015 film follows the real events involving the 1996 Mount Everest disaster and centers on the survival attempts of two expedition groups led by Rob Hall (Jason Clarke) and Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Life of Pi
Ang Lee directed and produced the adventure-drama film Life of Pi. Featuring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Tabu and Adil Hussain, the film was adapted from Yann Martel’s novel of the same name. The 2012 film focuses on two survivors of a shipwreck who are stranded on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean for 227 days (about 7-and-a-half months) after which they are rescued. One of them is 16-year-old Pi Patel (Suraj Sharma), while the other one happens to be a Bengal tiger called Richard Parker.
