Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Courier is finally releasing for audiences worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. The film revolves around a businessman, who used to deliver crucial intelligence information from one place to another in order to prevent a nuclear war.
The film was theatrically released earlier this year in some parts of the world. However, the pandemic has largely prevented the audience from watching the film in cinema halls. In a recent Instagram post, the OTT giant revealed the date of release on the thriller-drama film. The caption reads, “A true-life spy thriller, the Courier witnesses an unassuming British businessman in the midst of an international conflict. Dangerous alliances and consequences are in order. Watch #TheCourier, this Aug 2.”

Benedict had to lose a lot of weight to portray the character of Greville Wynne, on whom the film is actually based. The Courier is directed by Dominic Cooke and also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Jessie Buckley and Angus Wright. The historical spy film will release on August 2.
Meanwhile, the actor will be reprising the role of Doctor Strange in the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: No Way Home that also stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. The Sherlock Holmes star will also be seen in the titular character of the sequel of Doctor Strange titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2022.
