Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor-starring Bell Bottom’s new song Sakhiyan 2.0 is a rehashed Punjabi song

New song Sakhiyan 2.0 out now

The new song titled Sakhiyan 2.0 from the upcoming Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor-starrer film Bell Bottom that released on Friday is yet another rehashed song of a Punjabi number. Rehashed songs have been a trend now in Bollywood for a couple of years with almost every other film having a rehashed and remixed song of old popular songs like Ek Do Teen, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas and Humma Humma.

Sakhiyan 2.0 is a recreation of Maninder Buttar’s 2018 hit Punjabi number, Sakhiyan which shows intimacy between Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor. Buttar himself has worked on the song once again along with the music composer Tanishk Bagchi. The song is sung by Buttar and Zara Khan and the lyrics are by Bagchi, Buttar and Babbu. According to the filmmakers, the song is a “shoutout to all the hopeless romantics.”

The three-minute song from the thriller is shot in various locations with beautiful sceneries and picturesque ambience. In the song, Akshay appears to try to match Vaani’s dancing prowess. Akshay took to Instagram to share the song and wrote, “Can’t wait for you guys to feel the Sakhiyan 2.0 vibe, song out now.”

Vaani Kapoor also shared the release of the new song on her twitter feed. She tweeted, “This groovy number is sure to get your foot tapping.” And we completely agree with her.

The song Marjaawaan from the film which was released earlier is a romantic ballad shot against a scenic backdrop as well.
