The film Bela Shuru is a love story of an elderly couple and also involves family drama. It has retained the star cast from the 2015 hit Bela Shese. Rituparna Sengupta, Shankar Chakraborty Monami Ghosh, Anindya Chatterjee, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Aparajita Auddy, Indrani Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Arunima and Sayak Chakraborty will be seen sharing the screen once more.

And to further pique the interest, Swatilekha Sengupta will be seen sharing the screen space with her husband Rudraprasad Sengupta for the first time. According to the narrative, Rudraprasad is going to play her character’s love interest from her teenage days.

Satyajit Ray aficionados fondly remember the on-screen chemistry between the two stalwart actors, Swatilekha Sengupta and Soumitra Chatterjee from Ghare Baire (1985). The film showed her character caught up in a vortex of emotions as she had to choose between her rich husband (Victor Banerjee) and his freedom fighter friend (Soumitra Chatterjee).

Unfortunately, Swatilekha Sengupta succumbed to her kidney ailment last year and passed away at the age of 71. And actor Soumitra Soumitra Chatterjee breathed his last on October 6 last year at the age of 85 due to COVID-19.

The title track of their last film, Belashuru pays a final tribute to both of them.
