None in the film trade expected a small-budget movie like RDX with no promotion outside Kerala would go on to break the collection records of many previous Malayalam blockbusters. Debutant director Nahas Hidayath's action drama has exceeded expectations by achieving a new major milestone at the box office. Actor Neeraj Madhav, who played one of the lead roles in the movie, expressed his gratitude on his Facebook page.

"RDX has touched the golden 100 Crore mark in business collection. The journey's been emotional, and your unwavering love carried us through every high and low. RDX will start its journey on Netflix from tomorrow. Thank you for being our strength!," Neeraj wrote on his Facebook page.

RDX stars Shane Nigam, Neeraj Madhav and Antony Varghese in the lead roles. It revolves around the friendship between three hot-headed youths. The trio are united by their love for martial arts and street fights.

RDX didn't get a wide opening in Kerala as the box office was packed with other new and bigger star movies. Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer was dominating the box office when RDX came out on August 25, coinciding with the Onama celebration. As an added challenge, the movie had to vie for screen space and audience attention with other new Malayalam movies: Duqluer Salmaan's King of Kotha and Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss & Co.

The odds were really stacked up against RDX at the box office. However, things started to change following the first show. The movie received better reviews than King of Kotha and Ramachandra Boss & Co. And the theatres began to give the movie bigger screens and more shows. The terrific word-of-mouth ensured that the three-day opening weekend of RDX was bigger than the four-day opening weekend of King of Kotha at the worldwide box office.

And soon RDX became an unstoppable force at the box office.

When is RDX OTT release?

After successfully running in cinemas and creating new milestones for a movie of its size, RDX is set to make its debut on the streaming platform.

RDX will become available for streaming on Netflix on September 24.
