The dramedy, also featuring Neha Shetty in the lead, is written and directed by Clax
Kartikeya Gummakonda, who made his Tamil debut earlier this year with Ajith’s Valimai, is back in the news for his next project as a lead. The film titled Bedurulanka 2012 has him pair opposite DJ Tillu actress Neha Shetty. Written and directed by newcomer Clax, the dramedy is produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni under Loukya Entertainments. C Yuvaraj is the presenter.
A special first look and motion poster of the film were launched today, by actor Nani, who co-starred Kartikeya in the action comedy Gang Leader. In the motion poster, Kartikeya is introduced as a witty master Siva, who’s tossing a couple of coins and hints at a premise revolving around elements like destiny, folklore and mysticism.
Producer Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni shares that the motion poster offers a peek into the film’s concept and the story revolving around the ‘end of an epoch’ in a village. He labels it an out-an-out entertainer and believes that Kartikeya and Neha Shetty’s presence will be a major asset to the final product. The dramedy was filmed in the vicinity around Yanam, Kakinada and Godavari.
There are five songs in the film’s music album, composed by Mani Sharma, who scored a hit recently with Samantha’s Yashoda. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry had also penned a number for the film. Cinematography, art direction and the screenplay are the USPs of Bedurulanka 2012, the team adds. The film is expected to release in the early half of 2023.
Director Clax is confident that the dramedy will unleash the potential of Kartikeya as a performer and calls it an entertainer set in a rural backdrop. Ajay Ghosh, Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Ayyengar, 'Auto' Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, LB Sriram, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Kittayya, Anithanath, Divya Narni and others form the supporting cast. Sai Prakash Ummadisingu, Sunny Kurapati are the cinematographers.
