Beast: Selvaraghavan will play a politician and not villain in Vijay starrer action flick

There is a great deal of hype with every Vijay movie before its grand release and so is with Beast directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Selvaraghavan was believed to be playing the role of a villain in the movie, but there are new reports that say otherwise.

As reported by Times of India, Selvaraghavan, who was said to be the villain in the action movie will actually be playing a cool and humorous role. The director-actor has portrayed serious roles in his career so far, and if the reports are to be believed, this will be a first for Selvaraghavan. The actor looks to catch the fans off guard and deliver a role that could be interesting for them.

Directed by Dilipkumar, the movie has completed its filming and is currently in the post-production stages. Slated to release in April this year, the makers will look to release the first single from the movie soon.

The action thriller has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander and its camera work by Manoj Paramahamsa. The film is being edited by R. Nirmal. Beast is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures.

Apart from Vijay in the lead, the movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, Redin Kingsley and Aparna Das in important roles.

Nelson earlier released the black comedy thriller, Doctor with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, in October last year. The movie, which was released in theatres and later on Netflix, received good reviews from the critics and also became one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.

Meanwhile, Vijay was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Master with Vijay Sethupathy playing the antagonist. The movie, which was also released in theatres and went on to be a massive hit, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
