One of the big releases Kollywood witnessed this year was Vijay-starrer Beast which had Nelson Dilipkumar at its helm. The film produced by Sun Pictures released in a huge number of theatres across the world on April 13. The movie is said to have emerged as the numero uno Tamil movie in terms of its first day box office numbers in Tamil Nadu.

Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Sathish, Shine Tom Chacko and Aparna Das among others essay important characters in the project which has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

What's Beast about?

The film's story revolves around a former RAW agent who takes up the mission of rescuing more than 200 people who are stuck in a mall which has been hijacked by a group of dreaded terrorists. How he comes up with different plans to divert their attention and save innocent people forms the rest of the story.

Vijay's screen presence, engaging background score, convincing art direction and thrilling fight sequences were a few aspects in Beast which were unanimously appreciated by film lovers.

When and where to watch Beast online?

The movie will drop on Netflix and Sun NXT on May 11 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Upon its theatrical release, Beast opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike. However, it ended up as Vijay's fifth movie to gross 200 crores. The humongous response KGF: Chapter 2 received from all quarters was another reason which affected the box office prospects of Beast to a certain extent.

Manoj Paramahamsa and Nirmal have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film. Anbariv choreographed action scenes while Jani composed dance moves for the sensation Arabic Kuthu song in the movie. Kiran was at the helm of the movie's art direction.
