Nelson Dilipkumar's Vijay-starrer Beast which released on April 13 had opened to mixed responses. The power-packed performance of the star and Anirudh's music are a few elements which received unanimous response from the audience. The makers have now released a making video in which Nelson, art director Kiran and stunt choreographer Anbariv spoke about their experience working for the movie.

The filmmaker said that Vijay for him is a larger than life hero and hence his priority was to make an action film that is enjoyable to all sections of audience. He added that despite the film being a hostage thriller, he was particular about not approaching its story in a hard-hitting, emotional manner.

He said, "I wanted to make a film which is high on entertainment quotient. My intention was to come up with a screenplay which should be enjoyed by ladies and kids, too. Though the plot revolves around a hijack in a mall, I wanted the movie to have a tension-free treatment."

According to Nelson, showcasing Vijay in the best possible manner in action and dance sequences has been his dream ever since he came on board as the director of Beast.

The difficult part, he said, was working on such a big budget movie within the limited constraints of a mall set. He said, "We can't go for a live shooting with someone like Vijay sir. So, art direction played a major part in setting the right ambience for the film's story. We are happy to see the audience enjoying the film in theatres."

The chartbuster songs in Kolamavu Kokila and Doctor were placed during the end credits. Nelson explained that the sensational hit song Arabic Kuthu was placed in the first half of the film as he wanted the audience to enjoy watching a star like Vijay having fun while dancing to a peppy number.
