Bazooka, which is touted to be a thriller, will have Deeno Dennis directing Mammootty
Megastar’s Mammootty’s next big budget thriller Bazooka is set to go on floors soon. The movie marks the directorial debut of veteran scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis’ son Deeno Dennis.
OTTplay had earlier reported that Gautham Vasudev Menon and Shine Tom Chacko are also part of the cast of the movie, which is touted to be a first-of-its-kind game thriller in Malayalam cinema. In an earlier interview with us, Deeno said, “It’s a big project in terms of the scale of the film. There are a lot of artistes involved, and Kochi and Bengaluru are the main locations of the movie. The film will also have a bit of travel involved.”

The movie has Nimish Ravi cranking the camera, while Rorschach composer Midhun Mukundan will be scoring the music. While Deeno didn’t reveal too much about the plot of the film, he did tell us that it will be a “mass thriller”.
The youngster had first approached Mammootty with the idea almost three years ago. “I felt Mammukka is the most apt for this movie. When I got a chance to pitch him the idea, I went to him with the complete scene order. He was excited about it as soon as he heard it,” said Deeno, in an earlier interview with us.
Mammootty is expected to begin the shoot of the movie after Eid. He recently wrapped up the shoot of the thriller titled Kannur Squad, which was helmed by cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj. The actor also has two big releases lined up in April and May with Surender Reddy’s Agent and Jeo Baby’s Kaathal – The Core.
The former, which is a stylish action-thriller, has Mammootty essaying the role of a RAW agent who is out to capture a rogue spy played by Akhil Akkineni. Kaathal, which is also produced by Mammootty, has Jyothika as the female lead. The movie is touted to be a family drama and is slated for a May release this year.
