Leslie Grace stars as Barbara Gordon in Batgirl which has begun filming as revealed by co-directors.
Leslie Grace will star as the titular Batgirl in the upcoming movie, which has now officially begun filming. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah both shared a photo from the sets of the movie, which also announced the filming.
The photo from the sets features a clapboard from the sets which also reveals the logo for the movie, which looks really well done. Also on a table sits a name slate that reads “Officer Barbara Gordon”. The location set in the post reads Gotham City, a fun nod to the movie they are working on.
Leslie Grace will play Barbara Gordon, who is the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, a silently disclosed ally of Batman in the horrid city of Gotham. Barbara Gordon also becomes Batgirl in the comics.
Reports suggest that J.K Simmons will reprise his role as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming movie. Simmons appeared as Commissioner Gordon in a brief stint in Justice League. The role of the commissioner is expected to be more substantial in the Batgirl movie.
There are also reports suggesting that beloved actor Brendan Fraser, who is now on a path of comeback, will play the villain, Firefly in the movie. Firefly is a comic book villain who has an eye for arson and is a more than capable pyrotechnician.
While not much is known about the movie, which is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash), it can be assumed that the movie will be set in the DCEU since Simmons returns as Commissioner Gordon.
