Season 2 of Based on a True Story brings a new killer, a new mystery, and more dark comedy as the Bartletts are drawn back into the dangerous world they tried to escape.
Following her breakout role in The Big Bang Theory Kaley Cuoco has been consistently entertaining audiences with her dark comedy series Based on a True Story and her work in The Flight Attendant. Friday, November 22, is when JioCinema (OTTplay Premium) will stream all eight episodes of Based on a True Story season two.
If you missed the first season of Based on a True Story here's a rundown: The series opens with the Bartletts, a married couple living in Los Angeles who are already struggling financially due to the stress of expecting a child. Ava, a real estate agent with a passion for true crime, and Nathan, a former tennis star who is now struggling as an instructor, round out the cast.
Their luck takes a turn for the worst when they learn that Matt, their plumber, may actually be the infamous Westside Ripper. However, Ava devises a more effective strategy: instead of reporting him, she should have him host a true crime podcast. After Matt takes over as host, the podcast immediately becomes a huge success. With the money rolling in, Ava and Nathan threaten to turn Matt into the police if he doesn't stop killing people, but Matt is aware that they are in over their heads, too. as well as his refusal to adhere to the regulations.
When their mutual friend Ruby Gale starts to suspect anything and finds out who Matt really is, everything falls apart at the conclusion of the season. The murder of Ruby and the horrifying act of leaving her corpse on the Bartletts' doorstep represent a startling shift in the plot. As they frantically attempt to erase any evidence of their involvement in the crime, Ava and Nathan realize that they are far beyond their capabilities. As they are cleaning up bloodstains and concealing potentially incriminating objects, Simon, Ruby's husband, unexpectedly shows up.
When he sees the chaos, he becomes frustrated and asks, "Whose blood is that?" This puts Ava and Nathan in a difficult position, as they must decide between their friend and the truth. This cliffhanger concludes the season and leaves us wondering what lengths these two would go to conceal their sinister and profitable secret.
