With the money rolling in, Ava and Nathan threaten to turn Matt into the police if he doesn't stop killing people, but Matt is aware that they are in over their heads, too. as well as his refusal to adhere to the regulations.

When their mutual friend Ruby Gale starts to suspect anything and finds out who Matt really is, everything falls apart at the conclusion of the season. The murder of Ruby and the horrifying act of leaving her corpse on the Bartletts' doorstep represent a startling shift in the plot. As they frantically attempt to erase any evidence of their involvement in the crime, Ava and Nathan realize that they are far beyond their capabilities. As they are cleaning up bloodstains and concealing potentially incriminating objects, Simon, Ruby's husband, unexpectedly shows up.

When he sees the chaos, he becomes frustrated and asks, "Whose blood is that?" This puts Ava and Nathan in a difficult position, as they must decide between their friend and the truth. This cliffhanger concludes the season and leaves us wondering what lengths these two would go to conceal their sinister and profitable secret.

What to expect in Season 2

Matt insists he's a "changed" man who has stopped killing people, but this system shock makes Ava and Nathan face their past with him. Ava and Nathan can't help but worry that he's reverting to his old ways when fresh murders begin to appear.

Concerned for Tory's well-being, Ava and Nathan find themselves entangled once again in the perilous realm of actual crime from which they sought refuge. While Ava is eager to uncover the truth behind the recent murders, Matt asserts that he shares their goal of identifying the perpetrator. But there's a catch: he might be the culprit.

Key characters and cast

Kaley Cuoco plays real estate salesperson and true crime aficionado Ava Bartlett. Season 2 finds her juggling parenting with her investigation into a spate of new killings. Former tennis star turned coach Nathan Bartlett (Chris Messina) is Ava's spouse.

Tom Bateman reprises his role as the charismatic yet deadly plumber Matt Pierce, also known as the Westside Ripper. Rumors of his return to killing people and his engagement to Tory, Ava's sister, drive the plot of Season 2.
