Barroz release date: Fazil makes the big announcement; Mohanlal reacts

Fazil, the veteran director who introduced Mohanlal into the Malayalam film industry, announced the long-awaited Barroz release date with a special video.

Barroz, the highly anticipated directorial debut of superstar Mohanlal, is finally gearing up for its grand theatrical release. The makers recently dropped major hints on the same with the official 3D trailer of the film, which hit the big screens along with Suriya’s Kanguva. After a long wait, the Barroz release date has been officially announced by the veteran director and Mohanlal’s mentor, Fazil, with a special video.

Fazil announces Barroz release date

Recently, Mohanlal and the team took to their official social media handles and shared a special video, featuring director Fazil. In the video, the legendary filmmaker, who introduced Mohanlal to the Malayalam film industry proudly recalled the superstar’s impeccable journey in the film industry. Fazil stated that he was surprised when the actor-filmmaker informed him of the release date, and requested him to announce the same, to the world officially. Because, the release date, December 25, 2024, holds a great significance in Mohanlal’s film career.

The senior filmmaker further added that it is an amazing coincidence that Barroz is release on the Christmas day, just like Mohanlal’s two biggest milestone films – his official debut Manjil Virinja Pookkal, and the iconic Manichitrathazhu. In the video, Fazil recalled how a highly surprised superstar immediately called his wife Suchitra, and later his friend and business partner Antony Perumbavoor, when Fazil reminded him of the same.

The legendary director concluded the video by wishing Barroz to emerge as an iconic film celebrated globally. Mohanlal, delighted with Fazil’s loving gesture, shared the special video on his official social media handles, with a caption that reads: “Thank you, dear Pachikka, for your heartfelt prayers and blessings.”

Mohanlal and Fazil films on OTT

If you wish to revisit Mohanlal’s debut film Manjil Virinja Pookkal, which is directed by Fazil, the iconic romantic drama is currently available for streaming on popular OTT platform Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. The iconic duo’s biggest blockbuster Manichitrathazhu, recently had a highly successful re-release in theatres. The much-loved multi-starrer is now streaming on Jio Cinema, Amazon Prime Video, and OTTplay Premium.
