The film is written and directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala and also stars Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty
Naga Chaitanya is on an all time high, full on confidence after scoring a terrific hit like Love Story, that brought crowds theatres in great numbers post the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. As an actor, he seems to have come of age and it has certainly shown in his effortlessness on the screen. His first release after Love Story is the rural entertainer Bangarraju, directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala. After releasing his first look yesterday, the makers unveiled the teaser of the film commemorating Naga Chaitanya's birthday (today i.e. Nov 23) today.
While the teaser begins with a wall-sized portrait of Nagarjuna, a light glows on it and the scene shifts to Naga Chaitanya in the avatar of Chinna Bangarraju (the younger version of Bangarraju). There's a watch, a locket, a necklace, a pair of shades and a series of rings placed on a table that are picked up by Naga Chaitanya, who appears out of a house in a fancy yellow-coloured shirt and denims, holding a cattle prod and sits stylishly on his bike with an unmistakable grin.
It's hinted that Naga Chaitanya will be appearing as the younger version of Nagarjuna in this outing, while it'll be interesting how the screenplay brings together Chinna Bangarraju along with other characters played by Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty on the screen. Krithi Shetty is cast in the role of Naga Lakshmi in the film whereas Ramya Krishna is expected to reprise her role as Satyabhama (from Soggade Chinni Nayana) all over again.
Bangarraju has story by Kalyan Krishna himself while the screenplay is penned by ace writer Satyanand. Yuvraaj has cranked the camera for the film for which Brahma Kadali is the art director. Anup Rubens continues to be the music director of the franchise after Soggade Chinni Naayana as well. Nagarjuna is producing the film under Annapurna Studios in collaboration with Zee Studios. Key character actors from the previous film including Jhansi, Chalapathi Rao, Vennela Kishore and Brahmaji have been retained for Bangarraju too.
