Directed by Arun Gopy, the film is touted to be a romantic action entertainer
Upcoming Malayalam movie Bandra has become the buzzword lately, as it marks the reunion of actor Dileep and director Arun Gopy, who previously collaborated on the successful film Ramaleela. Scripted by Pulimurugan writer Udaykrishna, Bandra is also Tamannaah Bhatia’s much-awaited debut in Malayalam cinema. While only the teaser and a few posters have been released so far, the film’s trailer is likely to be revealed on October 27. The film is slated to hit the theatres in November this year.
What is Bandra all about?
Bandra is a big-budget film that draws inspiration from real-life events. Although it was earlier said that Dileep is playing a gangster in the film, Arun later denied that in an interview with OTTplay. According to the director, Dileep and Tamannaah will not be portraying characters related to the underworld. The filmmaker also clarified that they did not intend to create a pan-India film, as the story’s setting in Bandra (Mumbai) involves characters from different states.
As a result, actors from various industries were cast. There have also been reports that the film’s story is based on the life of the late Bollywood actress Divya Bharti. The film’s teaser, released by Udaykrishna, promi ses to showcase Dileep in a stylish and rugged avatar, while telling a story set in the Mumbai underworld.

Dileep’s upcoming projects
Apart from Bandra Dileep’s other major release is Thankamani, which is based on actual police shooting incident in Kerala. Helmed by Udal director Ratheesh Reghunandan, Thankamani is currently in the post-production stage. Dileep will also be seen in a film directed by Nissam Basheer, known for Rorschach. Meanwhile, the sequels to CID Moosa and Two Countries are also being discussed, along with Raffi’s He and She.
