Recently, Amazon Prime Video announced 'Bambai Meri Jaan,' a new crime drama which is all set to release on September 14. The series, directed by Shujaat Saudagar, is said to be partially inspired on Hussain Zaidi's book Dongri to Dubai.

In the web series 'Bambai Meri Jaan,' actress Kritika Kamra will play a female gangster, and she expressed details about her character who is the youngest and only sister of Dara Kadri's siblings. The actress's portrayal of Habiba, a bold and self-assured lady who defies the expectations of a woman in such a milieu to make her voice heard with effect, provides a useful contrast in the program. Talking about the same in an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Kritika said: "The roles being powerful, yes that's something we still need to work on. I thin representation of women on screen and also just having more women in the crew and around that is something we need to continue to work on but things have gotten better."

"I’ve been a part of two all women show or I can say women lead shows but this this particular story is a representation of that era that world. We are trying to authentically tell you a story of that time in this real world. You know thse women and these parts that we have in the show or a like really powerful and strong. That’s a personality trait not just in law just how trade of course and I think that is because the length so far Makers is such a look at a female characters like characters. They are human beings and you’re not just somebody’s mother or somebody sister or that's not the only function in the plot and the story. How these characters are developed and in their own traits as well, there's a lot of strength," the actress added.

Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur are the other actors playing pivotal parts in the show, Bambai Meri Jaan. The show is written by Rensil D'Silva and Shujaat Saudagar, and it is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia, and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Media and Entertainment.
