Anirban Bhattacharya’s Ballabhpurer Roopkotha is all set to release on October 25. The actor-turned-director has left no stone unturned to make an attractive presentation of the film during its pre-release promotions. The first song Shaajo Shaajao shows the BTS of the shooting and was released recently. Now, the second song, Badal Sircar Er Gaan, gives an introduction to the film concept.

At the outset, the song – penned by Anirban and composed by Debraj Bhattacharya – pays a tribute to playwright Badal Sircar. The film is based on his eponymous work. As the song progresses, it gets into how Bengali theatre and Badal Sircar get appropriated in Bengali cinema. In its witty lyrics, it states that after dealing with various subjects, including dark, detective, and classics, the director resorts to Bengali theatre and eventually to Badal sircar’s work.

A colourful music video shows an interesting choreography presented by Anirban, Debraj, Subhadeep Guha, and others. With a catchy tune, the song is expected to be a hit number from the film.

Ballabhpurer Roopkotha is Anirban’s debut feature film. Earlier, he debuted as a director with Hoichoi’s web series Mandaar. The show which features Sohini Sarkar, Debashis Mondal, and Debesh Roychowdhury is based on William Shakespeare's Macbeth. After his tryst with Bard’s classic, Anirban has chosen a lighter horror rom-com for Ballabhpurer Roopkotha that features Surangana Bandyopadhyay, Satyam Bhattacharya, and others.

Unlike many of Badal Sircar’s other important works, Ballavpurer Rupkotha is a fantasy horror play with an underlying love story. In the teaser, we get an eerie glimpse of a mansion. Anirban’s voice tries to narrate some information regarding the film. With an intriguing soundscape, his voice gets disrupted due to some apparent technical glitch. The plot of the play delves into the family of a young landlord, who has lost almost every bit of his family's money but still owns a mansion. He desperately tries to sell the house and finally, when he gets a buyer, the dark past of the mansion comes out.
