With not many big Telugu films releasing this week, the entire concentration has now shifted toward a small village drama called Balagam. Mega-producer, Dil Raju has presented this film which has been directed by debutante Venu Yeldandi. The film was released today and the feedback has been quite positive from the critics and audience alike.
Dil Raju's daughter, Hanshita Reddy, and nephew Harshit Reddy have produced this film on Dil Raju Productions. Speaking in an interview, Dil Raju reveals that when his team came to him with the final product, there was a discussion to release the film on OTT as the subject matter was a bit arty. But as he was quite sure about the outcome, he chose the theatrical release.
Adding further, he says "The moment I heard the story, I felt the narration was a bit serious. But if we could make the film on a commercial note, the audience will love it irrespective of the region it is set in and will be welcomed on the big screens". Balagam is set in the small town of Siricialla in Telangana and deals with the changes a family goes through when an elder passes away.
Dil Raju says he is quite happy as the collections are increasing with each passing day. More screens will be added in AP for Balagam in the days to come feels Dil Raju. Priyadarshi and Kavya Kalyanram played the main leads in this film which had hit music by Bheems Cecerolio. Amazon Prime has bought the OTT rights to the film for a fancy price.
