Three years ago, at the RRR pre-release event in Mumbai, Salman Khan revealed the official sequel to his 2015 hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, the father of S. S. Rajamouli, who also wrote the first movie will write the sequel. Kabir Khan, who directed the film in 2015, had previously expressed his distaste for sequels. Once again, the filmmaker has spoken candidly about one of the most anticipated sequels.

Current status of the Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 script

When asked if he has a script or storyline ready, Kabir told Connect Cine on YouTube that there's nothing at the script level yet. There are numerous intriguing approaches and concepts to advancing Bajrangi.

The filmmaker went on to say that The Adventures of Bajrangi and Chand Nawab could be a promising project with numerous potential directions. However, at present, they lack a script.

Kabir Khan's view on secularism

In addition to fostering cross-border understanding, Bajrangi Bhaijaan promoted religious harmony throughout the nation. Prior to the movie's premiere, Kabir made it clear that he intended to make strong political remarks that spoke to the current state of politics in the country. 

During an interview with the Indian Express, Kabir expressed his firm convictions regarding harmony, secularism, and cultivating camaraderie among individuals. His upbringing in an interfaith home and his parents' interfaith marriage fueled his love and celebration of both cultures.

The filmmaker shared that he wanted to talk about the Hindu-Muslim divide, and Salman's stardom helped him bring it all to the public's attention. The superstar also immediately agreed with the movie and expressed strong feelings about secularism.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan's enduring popularity

Fans of Salman still adore Bajrangi Bhaijaan nine years later. He even acknowledges that his father, Salim Khan, thinks his performance in the movie is the best of his career.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles, along with Harshaali Malhotra, who became an overnight star with her performance as Munni.
