Netizens are, indeed, excited to note that there's a superhero or 'vigilante' like quality to Sriimurali's character in 'Bagheera'
Looks like the first video glimpse of 'Bagheera' has delivered on all the expectations that Sriimurali fans and the Kannada film audience, in general, have withheld thus far. Of course, two main reasons for these expectations are the involvement of Hombale Films, the production house, and filmmaker Prashanth Neel, who has written the story of the film.
The 'Salaar' director's trademark grimness, the larger-than-life setting and other facets are conspicuous in the 'Bagheera' teaser, which also reveals that Sriimurali will be seen in diverse shades in the film. The 42-year-old actor plays a police officer in the film but we now know that there's more to his personality than meets the eye.
"Echoes of The Batman"
What's also apparent in the 'Bagheera' teaser is that Sriimurali plays a masked hero-like figure who carries out justice in his own unique manner. While this isn't pronounced yet, social media users have already picked up on the hint and many of them have opined that there are echoes of superhero figures like Batman in the character.
"Society" "Jungle" "Predator" "Justice". For some reason giving little bit of Batman vibes ๐ ๐ฅ #Bagheera. Saviour hidden in both as a cop and a superhero would be fantastic ๐" wrote one user, who picked up on the keywords to share their analysis.
Alongside, the dark and grim colour palette, which has been a signature quality of films featuring the caped crusader, has also led many film aficionados to believe that, indeed, 'Bagheera' is not just any ordinary cop.
The term 'vigilante', too, has cropped up on multiple occasions on social media. Many feel quite strongly about 'Bagheera' being about a cop who has been stifled by the rules of his job and has in turn chosen to go off the radar to deliver justice to the people. The few shots of common people wailing also support this analysis
More importantly, fans of Sriimurali are super kicked to see the actor in good form in the film. Many would know that he endured an injury in his leg during the making of 'Bagheera' and had to even undergo surgery to spring back into action.

An interesting ensemble of actors
Previously, it was rumoured that Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil would be a part of the film but it emerged around the same time that Prakash Raj is likely to play the same role. Hombale Films has, regardless, confirmed that the veteran actor is part of the cast of 'Bagheera' and so is Garuda Ram, who has already been part of four Hombale Films' ventures, including 'KGF 1', 'KGF 2' and 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire'.
Rukmini Vasanth, too, plays a prominent role in the film and a few reports state that Achyuth Kumar will be seen in the film as well.
