The 2024 BAFTAs are scheduled to take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 18, 2024, starting at 7 pm GMT. For viewers in India, the ceremony will begin at 12:30 am on February 19. This prestigious event will be attended by esteemed personalities from the film industry and will showcase intense competition across various categories. Hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to recognize outstanding contributions to film, this year's ceremony marks the 77th edition of the awards since its inception in 1949. Adding to the glamour, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is set to grace the occasion as a presenter.

Scottish actor David Tennant has been chosen to host the upcoming BAFTA show, succeeding previous hosts Richard E Grant and Rebel Wilson from the years 2022 and 2023, respectively. As with previous ceremonies, Christopher Nolan’s gripping biographical thriller "Oppenheimer" leads the nominations with an impressive tally of 13 nods. Yorgos Lanthimos’ "Poor Things" closely follows with 11 nominations, while Martin Scorsese’s "Killers of the Flower Moon" and Jonathan Glazer’s "The Zone of Interest" each garnered nine nominations.
Among the 23 nominees in the performance categories, a notable eleven individuals have received their first BAFTA Film nomination. These include Sandra Hüller for "Anatomy of a Fall" and "The Zone of Interest," Cillian Murphy for "Oppenheimer," Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks for "The Color Purple," Colman Domingo for "Rustin," Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Dominic Sessa for "The Holdovers," Jacob Elordi for "Saltburn," Vivian Oparah for "Rye Lane," and Teo Yoo for "Past Lives."
