Badrinath Ki Dulhania turns 7 – Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt celebrate the day with special Instagram stories

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt-starrer romantic drama film Badrinath Ki Dulhania turned 7 on Sunday.

Romantic comedy Badrinath Ki Dulhania, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions, was released in 2017. Serving as the successor of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), the film starred Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The story follows a determined small-town girl with dreams of becoming an air hostess, who defies the male-dominated rules imposed by her fiancé. Today, Badrinath Ki Dulhania celebrates its seventh anniversary, highlighting its continued relevance and popularity.

Marking the day, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan shared love-filled Instagram Stories for the team and fans of the movie.

Varun Dhawan shared a throwback video highlighting the glimpses of the movie. He said, “7 years back, Shashank Khaitan and Alia Bhatt had a great time working with me. I also enjoyed their company. #BadrinathKiDulhania”

Alia Bhatt reposted the Instagram Story on her Story and said, ‘As humble as ever Varun’ with a bunch of laughing emoticons.

Dharma Productions, too, shared a special post on the occasion which read, “A tale of two lovers who triumph over numerous obstacles together & became each other’s ‘humsafar’!”

Badrinath Ki Dulhania made an impressive debut at the box office in India, raking in ₹12.25 crore on its opening day. Over its theatrical run, the film accumulated a total domestic gross of ₹162 crore, cementing its commercial success and popularity among audiences.

Is Dulhania 3 on the way?

There is no official confirmation about the expansion of the Dulhania franchise.

Meanwhile, excitement is building for a new love story starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. In February, Karan Johar's production company, Dharma Productions, announced Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Shashank Khaitan, director of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, will helm this project. The film promises a heartwarming blend of romance and delightful moments.
