Bad Newz box office collection day 1 - Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk starrer Bad Newz was released in theatres on 19th July. The romantic comedy has been well-received by the audiences as it opened with shining results on its first day of release. Helmed by Anand Tiwari, the film has received a good start at the ticket counters and has become Vicky’s biggest opener.
As reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, Bad Newz collected Rs. 8.5 crore on its first day at the box office. The film saw an overall 22.83 per cent Hindi occupancy.
The film is expected to pick up with good numbers even on Saturday and Sunday. Bad Newz is currently enjoying the solo release at the ticket window which will work well for the film. Given the massive promotions of the film, which worked well, the film is expected to even touch double digits on its first weekend. With Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk’s comic timing and Triptii’s fan base, the movie will attract more audiences at the ticket window.

Although the film is currently running in the theatres with last week’s releases - Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, it won’t affect Bad Newz collections as both of these films failed to impress the audiences. On the other hand, Kalki 2898 AD has now entered its third week but it started to slow down as well.
The narrative of the film revolves around a rare and unique phenomenon called hereropaternal superfecundation where a woman can conceive twins with different fathers. This is the first time a Hindi movie has explored this story on the big screens.
Bad Newz is produced by Anand Tiwari, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. The film also stars Neha Dhupia in a pivotal role with Ananya Panday’s cameo.
