Filmmaker Duniya Suri had a long and close association with the late Rebel Star Ambareesh and admits to missing the latter dearly. He now shares a similar bond with the late actor’s son Abishek, whom Suri has directed in Bad Manners, which is up for release on November 24. The film is the young actor’s second venture after the debacle that was his debut, Amar, and will serve as a relaunch for him. Suri has been very guarded about the subject of the film, revealing little, except for the fact that his leading man plays a police officer and that the story revolves around country-made firearms.

Speaking as part of the promotions of the film, Suri said that he decided to do a film with Abishek after watching Amar and that he’d decided to completely overhaul the image the actor had in his debut. The fact that Abishek was one film old when they started Bad Manners helped Suri, as the actor was not camera shy. But that apart, Suri also says that when audiences watch the film they will also realize what an asset the actor is for the Kannada film industry. His striking similarity in his body language and voice modulation to his late father apart, Suri says that Abishek’s talent is something to look forward to and that he would love to do more films with the actor.

The filmmaker was also quizzed about his choice of actress, as he has paired Abishek with Rachita Ram, a combination that audiences have not been convinced about. Addressing this, he said, would reveal too much of the story, but in a day and time when the age of a woman is not an issue in finding love, the reasoning behind this pairing will be explained, he says.
