Hari Priya, Sameera Bharadwaj and MLR Karthikeyan have crooned for this track composed by Devi Sri Prasad
Post Mahanati, National-award winning actress Keerthy Suresh has been making a series of uncoventional, courageous choices like Penguin, Miss India, Annaatthe. The next release in her interesting lineup of films is a sports comedy, Good Luck Sakhi, where she turns an air-rifle shooter. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor (which marks his debut in Telugu cinema), the film, slated to release on November 26, also stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Ramaprabha and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. The first single from the film, Bad Luck Sakhi, was launched earlier on Monday.
Bad Luck Sakhi is among the more innovative numbers that Devi Sri Prasad has composed in the recent times, far removed from his comfort zone. The conversational song is about Sakhi, who invites bad luck wherever she is (and refer to her as Bad Luck Sakhi), and the entire town is keenly looking forward to her marriage. From children to middle-aged couples to elderly people, everyone is curious about her impending alliance. Sakhi, played by Keerthy Suresh, doesn't care for their words and asks them to simply mind their business.
Nagesh Kukunoor creates an interesting song situation that allows the viewer to understand what Sakhi as a character means to the community around her. The song, penned by lyricist Shreemani, is instantly catchy and the idea to have people across various age groups discuss Sakhi's life in it creates an element of intrigue. Bad Luck Sakhi proves that Devi Sri Prasad never disappoints when a director pushes him to brink to try something out of the box. Singers Hari Priya, Sameera Bharadwaj and MLR Karthikeyan do justice in staying true to the vision of the composer and the director.
Good Luck Sakhi is produced by Sudheer Chandra Padiri and co-produced by Shravya Varma under Worth A Shot Motion Arts. The film is presented by leading producer Dil Raju.
