Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be back as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett rekindle the Bad Boys in them for the fourth straight time.
"IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!" exclaim Hollywood superstars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett rekindle the Bad Boys in them for the fourth straight time. Bad Boys 4, the fourth instalment of the buddy cop action series, is all set to get underway and looks like the universe is ready for the shenanigans.
Smith took to his Instagram to share the exciting announcement with his fans and followers in the form of a vlog. "I got an announcement, y'all better stop scrolling. Seriously," said the Emancipation actor as he wielded a video camera on his face while he drove down to his buddy Martin Lawrence's house. "I wish I was you, not knowing what I am about to show you," he would add to highlight the excitement that he was brimming with. And a few seconds later, Lawrence would duly join in to share the update that Bad Boys 4, well and truly, is happening.
Fans, including many celebrities like DJ Khaled, Nick Cannon, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and others, were overjoyed with the announcement and took to the comments section to declare that they were READY for the Bad Boys. "Indeed I was hoping y'all would keep the franchise going bro that's what's up I'm definitely supporting as always congrats kings," wrote one user, echoing the sentiments of many others.
Will Smith, too, seemed quite charged up about the prospects and was seen responding to many comments on his own. What caught our attention, however, is his hilarious response to a fan who felt that the previous Bad Boys instalment, Bad Boys 3, was 'trash' and that it was time to move on!
"Yall know the 3rd one was trash right? Let's move on," said the user to which Smith had a super charming reply.
"YOU KRAZY! It was the biggest one of all?!?!" wrote the 54-year-old actor. Needless to say that his response won many hearts, although some did agree that Bad Boys 3 wasn't that great, after all!
In another comment, a user said that while Emancipation, Will Smith's most recent release, was great, he still saw Bad Boys 4 to be the actor's official comeback to the limelight (following the slapping incident involving Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars).
Smith, yet again, had an endearing response that put the argument to rest. "A great man one said, "Don't call it a comeback, I been here for years!" he wrote.
Created by George Gallo, the Bad Boys franchise debuted in 1995 with Michael Bay directing the first film of the series. Bay would go on to direct the second part, titled Bad Boys II (2003), as well with the Belgian director duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah directing the third film, Bad Boys For Life (2020). Details regarding the director of Bad Boys 4, the film's release date, plot, etc. are yet to be revealed.
